It is a pleasure to be the organizer of the Scientific Symposium „Cardiovascular Imaging in Ishemic Heart Disease“ in Opatija, on the threshold of Croatian accession to the European Union. It is a privilege to host top Croatian and European experts in the field of very frequent clinical problem D ischemic heart disease, that includes all imaging modalities in cardiology.

Magnetic resonance and MSCT of the heart lately refocused attention of the potential of these imaging tehnique and continue to attract interes within the radiology and cardiology communities. Advances in image quality, reliability and range of applications have evolved to a point where the imaging MRI and MSCT are increasingly seen as a routine clinical tool. In support of this, we also change the European Association of Echocardiography, which now includes all imaging methods in the name of European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.

I believe that today's symposium „Cardiovascular Imaging in Ishemic Heart Disease“ will touch on the essence of what is a dynamic interdisciplinary field that we through enough information and the clinical problems to be sufficiently motivating listeners to raised his interest in this area to the next level.
