In defining the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease one of the important questions that need to be answered is the condition of coronary arteries. Thanks to the development of technology and constant improvements in protocol research a new world of heart vessels visualization has been created with the help of dual source MSCT. Combining two sources of radiation each with an independent set of detectors, ECG gated scanning and proper selection of protocol parameters enabled imaging of delicate structures in an object that moves constantly whilst reducing the dose. MSCT coronary angiography enables a widely accessible noninvasive confirmation or exclusion of ischemic cardiac disease in cardiac imaging.
